By the end of the seminar, students will be able to:
• explain the concept of intercultural competence and its importance for working in Germany.
• identify typical values, norms, and expectations in German workplaces.
• reflect on differences between their own cultural background and German work culture and
develop strategies to adapt constructively.
• manage common challenges, such as direct feedback, workplace formality, or misunderstandings, using practical tools and approaches.
• apply practical tips for professional communication in Germany, including emails, meetings,and conflict resolution, and develop personal strategies for intercultural encounters.

Inhalt:
Description
This interactive workshop is designed for international students preparing to enter professional life in Germany. It focuses on developing intercultural competence and understanding the norms, values, and communication styles that shape German work culture. Participants explore how cultural differences influence workplace interactions and learn practical strategies to navigate them effectively.
Students reflect on their own cultural backgrounds, compare them with German workplace practices, and practice adapting to intercultural situations with confidence. Through group discussions, short exercises, and experience sharing, participants gain insights into typical
aspects of German professional life, including hierarchy, formality, feedback culture, and workplace etiquette. The workshop aims to strengthen students’ ability to communicate effectively, build professional relationships, and approach cultural challenges as opportunities for growth.


Participation Requirements
• PC or laptop with stable internet access and functioning audio and video capabilities.
• As the seminar is interactive, having cameras turned on significantly contributes to a positive group dynamic and is strongly encouraged throughout the session.
Format and Methods
The seminar combines expert input with interactive exercises and group discussions. Participants explore German workplace culture, reflect on their own backgrounds, and practice adapting to intercultural situations. Practical scenarios and discussions allow students to apply strategies for communication, feedback, and professional interactions.
